Graduate Cover Supervisor

This is an exciting opportunity fixed term (in the first instance) graduate level opportunity that will offer the right candidate the opportunity to gain valuable school based experience prior to completing an initial teacher training course.  The school is apart of a large teacher training alliance which offers places in a range of secondary subjects via a schools direct route in conjunction with the University of Southampton.

The role of a Cover Supervisor is a challenging yet rewarding role in which you will be able to grow in and develop key teaching skills. You will benefit from a well structured training programme however you must exhibit a real passion for education and possess vision and drive to improving the opportunities for young people and raising attainment with support from departmental heads. You should also be a team player, good communicator and with a good sense of humour.

The ideal graduate will:

  • Have some experience working with children aged 11-16
  • Have a 2.2 or above degree in a curriculum subject
  • Be whiling to participate in the schools extra curricular programme relevant to your specialist subject area
  • Be confident to manage classes of up to 30 students, covering a range of subjects.
