"We are looking for a highly motivated Geography teacher to join our flourishing Humanities department after February Half Term. Any confident Geography teachers looking to apply should note that this teaching position involves teaching at lower key stage 3 level as well as GCSE level: Year 10 and 11 classes will be included in the teaching timetable. We are therefore looking to recruit a teacher of Geography who has experience in teaching up to GCSE level - applications are highly encouraged from newly qualified teachers or those with more experience." - Head of Humanities
As outlined above, our client secondary school requires a Geography specialist to join them after February Half Term for the remainder of the academic year in the first instance. The school have had an unexpected resignation from one of their teachers and have therefore found themselves looking for a teacher of Geography. There is therefore the opportunity to progress onto a school based contract for the right candidate. Key aspects of this Geography teaching role:
- Pay dependent upon payscale and experience ranging between £100 - 170 per day
- Full time Geography teacher required: applications encouraged from teachers of all experience levels
- 2 terms on a supply basis in the first instance; opportunity to secure a school based contract
- Barnsley based secondary school with a fantastic reputation
The successful Geography teacher will be teaching Geography up to GCSE level as well as supporting within the Geography department with any other subjects possible, such as History and RE. Given the nature of this teaching position being for 2 terms at least, all additional responsibilities will be expected including planning, marking, attending departmental briefings and taking part in parents' evenings for example. The teacher will benefit from a highly supportive Geography department with a Head of Humanities noted for their subject knowledge and experience in management.
This excellent secondary school is situated in Barnsley boasting fantastic facilities. For those travelling via car, the school is easily accessible via the M1.
