Functional Skills Tutor

Job description

Teaching Personnel are seeking Maths and English Functional Skills tutors to work with children who present with challenging behaviour in an alternative provision in the NG4 area of Nottingham.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills:

  • Minimum 1 year experience working with children and young people either in education or health care settings.
  • Confidence to work on your own initiative, as well as contributing to a team
  • Good understanding of the National Curriculum at a primary and/or secondary level
  • Confident to manage challenging behaviour and re-engage students who are disaffected and not currently engaged in their education
  • Have experience with working with children who present with challenging behaviour, SEMH and MLD
  • Be able to participate in any extra-curricular activities required

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
