Forest School Teacher – All Through School (Northampton, NN5)

Contract Type: Flexible (Full-time or Part-time considered)

An independent school in Northampton is seeking a passionate and experienced Forest School Teacher to join their team with an immediate start. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated educator who thrives in outdoor learning environments and is committed to nurturing children’s confidence, independence, and connection with nature.
The Role:
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, child-led Forest School sessions that promote holistic development through outdoor exploration. Working with small groups, you’ll create a safe, inspiring, and inclusive environment where pupils can take risks, build resilience, and develop practical skills.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver high-quality Forest School sessions in line with Forest School principles

Foster a safe and supportive outdoor learning environment
-
Carry out risk assessments and maintain health & safety standards
-
Encourage curiosity, independence, and teamwork among pupils
-
Monitor and evaluate pupil progress and engagement
-
Work collaboratively with school staff and leadership
Requirements:
-
Level 3 Forest School Leader qualification (Preferable)
-
Experience delivering Forest School sessions with children (primary age preferred)
-
Strong understanding of outdoor education and child-led learning
-
Excellent communication and organisational skills
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

First Aid qualification (desirable)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
