An independent school in Northampton is seeking a passionate and experienced Forest School Teacher to join their team with an immediate start. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated educator who thrives in outdoor learning environments and is committed to nurturing children’s confidence, independence, and connection with nature.

The Role:

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, child-led Forest School sessions that promote holistic development through outdoor exploration. Working with small groups, you’ll create a safe, inspiring, and inclusive environment where pupils can take risks, build resilience, and develop practical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality Forest School sessions in line with Forest School principles

• Foster a safe and supportive outdoor learning environment

• Carry out risk assessments and maintain health & safety standards

• Encourage curiosity, independence, and teamwork among pupils

• Monitor and evaluate pupil progress and engagement

• Work collaboratively with school staff and leadership

Requirements:

• Level 3 Forest School Leader qualification (Preferable)

• Experience delivering Forest School sessions with children (primary age preferred)

• Strong understanding of outdoor education and child-led learning

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

• First Aid qualification (desirable)
