An ambitious and supportive secondary school in Northampton is seeking a passionate History Teacher to join its team from the Easter term.

This is an excellent opportunity for a History specialist who wants to work in a school where expectations are rising, behaviour is well managed and students are encouraged to think deeply about the world around them. The school places strong emphasis on respect, aspiration and building positive relationships that allow both staff and students to flourish.

Leaders are committed to continual improvement and creating an environment where teachers feel supported, trusted and able to focus on delivering high-quality lessons.

About the Role

As a History Teacher, you will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students to:

  • Develop a secure understanding of key historical events and periods

  • Think critically about evidence, interpretation and perspective

  • Strengthen analytical writing and extended responses

  • Build curiosity about society, culture and global change

You will contribute to a department that values thoughtful curriculum planning, consistent expectations and collaborative working.

The School Is Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification

  • Has experience teaching History at secondary level

  • Can deliver engaging and well-structured lessons that stretch and support all learners

  • Establishes clear routines and maintains high standards of behaviour

  • Shares the school’s belief in high expectations and inclusive education

In Return, The School Offers:

  • A welcoming and community-focused secondary school in Northampton

  • A calm and purposeful learning environment

  • Students who are encouraged to take pride in their work and achievements

  • Access to professional development and opportunities for career progression

  • A leadership team committed to staff wellbeing and sustained improvement

This role would suit a History Teacher who is enthusiastic about their subject and motivated to make a meaningful impact within a school that values consistency, ambition and strong relationships.

If you are ready to inspire students to explore the past and understand its relevance today from the Easter term, we look forward to hearing from you.
