Are you passionate about English and confident leading a classroom? We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisor with a specialism in English to join a supportive secondary school in Northamptonshire.

This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced support staff who are looking to gain valuable classroom experience, particularly within the English department.

The Role

As an English Cover Supervisor, you will:

• Deliver pre-set lessons in the absence of teaching staff, with a focus on English

• Support students in engaging with literature, language, and written tasks

• Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment

• Manage behaviour in line with school policies

• Provide feedback to teaching staff on lesson progress and student engagement

You will play a key role in ensuring continuity of learning, particularly across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• A strong academic background in English (degree or A-Level preferred)

• Experience working with young people (school-based or similar setting desirable)

• Excellent communication and classroom management skills

• Confidence in leading a classroom independently

• A proactive, adaptable, and professional approach
