Are you an English graduate with aspirations of progressing into a career in teaching?
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with our client school in Manchester, to find an English graduate to join them after Easter, working as an English teaching assistant for the remainder of the academic year, supporting their students in English lessons as well as those struggling in literacy.
- Paid experience prior to starting a PGCE or similar teacher training programme
- Full time position as English teaching assistant in Manchester secondary
- Manchester based secondary, just north of the city centre (short walk from local tram stop)
- 18th April start date, placement until July at least
- Earn £250 - £300 per week
Our client school is a large, modern secondary with state of the art facilities which is located just slightly north of the city centre with a number of convenient public transport links for non-drivers. The school serves a diverse catchment area with a number of students hailing from the local areas of Crumpsall, Blackley and Moston – the school prides itself on an inclusive education policy and the growth of students educationally and socially. The English department is well equipped to quickly raise progress of students.
Throughout the post as an English teaching assistant, you will provide support to teaching staff in class along with delivering set schemes of work to small groups and 1:1 for those who are struggling in certain areas of English or at risk of missing their target grades in upcoming assessments. You will be expected to track progress for key students and liaise with teaching staff and support plans to boost results in English.
* Experience working in a secondary school is preferred, but not essential *
