Job description

English Teaching position available in oversubscribed Boys School this September

  • A personalised CPD programme
  • Modern, state-of-the-art facilities
  • Excellent London location easily accessible by train, bus or car

Join an oversubscribed 11-19 school which exists to serve the local community through innovative teaching and a broad and comprehensive curriculum offer in state-of-the-art facilities. We have a strong record of academic success which combined with our Performance Arts specialism underpins the development of our boys all the way to our co-educational post 16 provision.

Ofsted recently judged the school “outstanding” in many areas including leadership and behaviour. English is a large, thriving subject area which is very popular at A-Level.

Our ideal candidate is

• An English specialist, though ability to teach other Humanities subjects is desirable

• An outstanding teacher who combines a range of innovative teaching strategies with excellent relationships with young people

• A team player who works well with others and is dedicated to the success of their students

• Someone who looks for ways to improve themselves and the school and is not afraid of taking responsibility beyond their classroom

• The opportunity to work in an established and experienced school which challenges the stereotypes of underachieving boys in inner city London

• A personalised CPD programme that offers a range of opportunities to broaden your pedagogical experience and which seeks to support you in developing yourself for future leadership roles

• Modern, state-of-the-art facilities, including staff laptops and the use of excellent ICT facilities with the students

• The post will suit an experienced teacher, or an innovative NQT with the desire to learn from an excellent team. Secure your perfect role for September through Teaching Personnel.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
