English teacher job (Northamptonshire)

Full-time English teacher required for a South Northamptonshire based secondary school from September 2019.

The position will start in September 2019; however, should the candidate be available sooner, an earlier start date could be considered. The English department is a highly regarded department in school with a strong team of teachers including a member of senior leadership and an advanced skills teacher. The staff have been described as friendly and welcoming to all new staff in school. Experience with the AQA exam board would be beneficial but not essential.

The successful English teacher should be able to teach both English Language and English Literature up to GCSE level following the AQA curriculum. The school is keen to emphasise that they are open to shortlisting and appointing an English teacher of any experience level from newly qualified to those more experienced. Given the nature of the vacancy, the school are looking for an English teacher that can commit to the entire duration of the maternity cover; September 2019 to July 2020 (full academic year).

  • Full time English teacher required from September 2019.
  • Opportunity to work within a progressive Secondary school based in Northamptonshire

  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS 23,720-£39, 406.

The curriculum includes many opportunities to broaden students' horizons and assist them to grow in confidence". - Ofsted.

The duties for the incoming English teacher will include but not be limited to;

  • Plan, prepare and deliver dynamic English lessons across Key Stage 3-4.
  • Maintain positive behaviour in the classroom using behaviour management strategies to ensure pupils are engaged, in accordance to policies in place at school
  • Monitor, assess and evaluate pupil achievement taking appropriate action.
