A friendly and forward‑thinking mainstream primary school in Darwen is looking to appoint a Year 2 Teacher for a 1‑year maternity cover position. This role is perfect for a dedicated teacher who is enthusiastic about supporting pupils through the end of Key Stage 1 and preparing them for the transition into Key Stage 2.

What the role involves

  • Delivering well‑structured and engaging lessons to a Year 2 class.

  • Supporting pupils with SATs preparation and ensuring strong progress across core subjects.

  • Using assessment data to inform planning and personalise learning.

  • Building positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

  • Contributing to a collaborative and supportive school culture.

  • A qualified teacher with experience in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
