Job description

Supply Teacher (SEN & EYFS) – Summer Term Opportunity in Darwen

A primary school in Darwen is seeking an experienced and adaptable Supply Teacher for the summer term, with strong skills in SEN provision and confidence working within EYFS.

Role Overview

The successful teacher will take responsibility for the school’s SEND provision, supporting a small group of approximately 5 children with additional needs, alongside 2 skilled SSAs. The role suits someone who can create a calm, structured environment and confidently coordinate a small team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering a bespoke timetable for the SEND provision

  • Leading and implementing targeted interventions

  • Working closely with SSAs to support individual learning plans

  • Providing additional teaching support within the EYFS classroom when required

  • Using strong behaviour management and a child-centred approach

Ideal Candidate

A teacher who:

  • Has significant SEN experience, ideally across a range of needs

  • Is confident planning and leading small-group or specialist provision

  • Has experience within EYFS or early childhood settings

  • Communicates clearly, adapts quickly, and works well within a team

  • Brings warmth, resilience, and a commitment to inclusive practice

Contract Details

  • Summer term placement

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
