SEN Teaching Assistant – Romiley | September Start |
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Romiley from September. This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to transition into a permanent contract for the right candidate.
The Role:
-
Working 6.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, term time only
-
Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 and small group basis
-
Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery, planning support, and differentiation
-
Implementing behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
-
Supporting students with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
-
Encouraging student engagement, confidence, and independence
-
Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff and SENCO
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Previous experience working with SEN students in a school or similar setting
-
Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach
-
Patient, resilient, and adaptable
-
Confident supporting students with additional needs and challenging behaviour
-
Passionate about supporting young people and making a positive impact

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
