SEN Teaching Assistant – Romiley | September Start | 

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Romiley from September. This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to transition into a permanent contract for the right candidate.

The Role:

• Working 6.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, term time only

• Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 and small group basis

• Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery, planning support, and differentiation

• Implementing behaviour management strategies in line with school policies

• Supporting students with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs

• Encouraging student engagement, confidence, and independence

• Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff and SENCO

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience working with SEN students in a school or similar setting

• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach

• Patient, resilient, and adaptable

• Confident supporting students with additional needs and challenging behaviour

• Passionate about supporting young people and making a positive impact
