English Graduate Teaching Assistant – Secondary School in Chorlton-cum-Hardy
Start Date: September 2025 | Full-Time | Daily Pay: £89 – £100

Are you a recent English graduate with a passion for language, literature, and education? Do you aspire to become a teacher or work in a student-focused profession such as educational psychology or pastoral care?

A thriving secondary school in Chorlton-cum-Hardy is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic English Graduate Teaching Assistant to support their English department from September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with young people while contributing to their academic development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Work 1:1 and in small groups with students who need additional help with reading, writing, and comprehension

  • Assist with classroom preparation, marking support, and behaviour management

  • Encourage literacy engagement through mentoring and tailored intervention sessions

  • Work closely with teachers to monitor and track student progress

Ideal Candidate:

  • A recent graduate in English Language, Literature, or a related field

  • A strong communicator who can inspire and motivate young learners

  • Passionate about education and improving student outcomes

  • Proactive, organised, and able to work well as part of a team

  • Any previous experience working with young people (voluntary or paid) is desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
