Day-to-Day SEND/SEMH Cover Roles - East Sussex
Job description
Flexible SEND Work | Day-to-Day Cover Roles – East Sussex
This one’s a bit different.
We’re not looking for people who need guaranteed, full-time work.
We’re looking for people who are flexible, reliable, and open to stepping in when schools need support — often at short notice.
How It Works
SEND and SEMH schools across East Sussex regularly need last-minute cover.
That means:
- Calls between 7:30am – 8:00am
- Same-day placements
- Some busy weeks, some quieter ones
- A lot of variety
If you need consistency every week, this won’t suit.
If you want flexibility and variety, it works well.
The Role
- Covering Teaching Assistant, LSA or teaching roles
- Supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs
- Helping maintain structure and calm in the classroom
- Working across different schools
Who This Suits
This tends to suit people who:
- Want flexibility over routine
- Have other commitments or income streams
- Are confident and adaptable
- Can get to schools at short notice
- Are happy being “on call” for work
Access to a car is a big advantage — but not essential.
Pay & Details
- Teaching roles paid to scale
- TA / LSA roles paid at £92.60 per day
- Work across East Sussex SEND & SEMH schools
- Fully flexible, day-to-day opportunities
What We Need From You
- A child-only enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- Or willingness to apply immediately
- Reliability — if you say yes, schools are expecting you
Interested?
If this sounds like something that fits your lifestyle, apply or message me and we’ll get you set up.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
