Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit cover supervisors to work in Secondary Schools in Stockport. If you are currently looking to gain school based experience before commencing a teacher training programme then cover supervising is the perfect job role.

Cover supervisors take on the role of a teacher for the day delivering pre set work left by the absent permanent teacher. As a cover supervisor you will be managing a classroom of up to 30 students ensuring they completely set work and adhere to the schools behaviour policies.

Cover supervisor work is flexible and can be in the same school for the full academic year or can provide a combination of school to work in during the week. Within Stockport teaching personnel currently work with a number of schools that are looking for cover supervisors to provide specialist support. Graduates looking to gain school based experience before applying for a teacher training programme or those from a youth work, sports coaching background and have transferable skills would be well suited to the cover supervisor post.

Highlights of the cover supervisor programme;

  • Weekly pay paid through PAYE up to £350 per week dependant on experience
  • First hand experience working as a teacher in front of classes up to 30 students
  • Frequent courses and CPD opportunities
  • Working in a variety of secondary schools
  • Consistent support from a team of knowledgeable consultants

Essential criteria for the cover supervisor role;

  • Passion for education and working with young people
  • Flexible attitude and willingness to adjust to the role
  • Degree or relatable qualifications
  • References form your work or educational history
  • Application for a DBS criminal clearance certificate
