Core Subjects Tutor – Newark, Nottinghamshire

Specialising in Maths, English, or Science (KS3)

Are you passionate about helping young people succeed in their education?
Do you have experience teaching core subjects and the ability to support students on a 1:1 basis?

Teaching Personnel is proud to partner with schools and local authorities across Newark to support vulnerable and disengaged learners. We are currently seeking a dedicated Core Subjects Tutor to deliver personalised sessions in Maths, English, or Science at Key Stage 3 level.

This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact—and could become a long-term, full-time position for the right candidate.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition in Maths, English, or Science

  • Plan engaging, student-centred lessons to re-engage learners

  • Track progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly

  • Create a supportive and structured learning environment

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), tutoring experience, or relevant subject degree

  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths, English, or Science

  • Confidence in managing behaviour in a 1:1 or small group setting

  • A passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
