Core Subjects Tutor – Newark, Nottinghamshire

Teaching Personnel is proud to partner with schools and local authorities across Newark to support vulnerable and disengaged learners. We are currently seeking a dedicated Core Subjects Tutor to deliver personalised sessions in Maths, English, or Science at Key Stage 3 level.

This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact—and could become a long-term, full-time position for the right candidate.

Role Responsibilities:

Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition in Maths, English, or Science
Plan engaging, student-centred lessons to re-engage learners
Track progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
Create a supportive and structured learning environment

Competitive hourly rate: £25–£30 per hour

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), tutoring experience, or relevant subject degree
Strong subject knowledge in Maths, English, or Science
Confidence in managing behaviour in a 1:1 or small group setting
A passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
