Functional Skills Teacher

Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and experienced Functional Skills Tutors to support learners in English and Maths across Nottinghamshire. This is a valuable opportunity to help students gain essential qualifications and skills for life, education, and employment.

Position Overview:

• Location: Nottinghamshire (multiple in-person locations and remote delivery available)

• Subjects: Functional Skills English and/or Maths

• Pay Rate: £25–£30 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

• Contract Type: Flexible – part-time and full-time roles available

• Start Date: Immediate or negotiable

Role Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality Functional Skills sessions tailored to learners' individual needs

• Support students working towards Entry Level, Level 1, or Level 2 Functional Skills qualifications

• Track progress and provide clear, constructive feedback

• Adapt teaching methods to suit varying learning styles and abilities

Requirements:

• Experience delivering Functional Skills in English and/or Maths

• A recognised teaching or assessing qualification is preferred (e.g. PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed, AET, etc.)

• Strong subject knowledge and a flexible, supportive teaching approach

• An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
