Functional Skills Tutor – Nottinghamshire
Teaching Personnel | £25–£30 per hour
Are you passionate about helping learners build essential life and work skills? Teaching Personnel is looking for a dedicated and experienced Functional Skills Tutor to support students across Nottinghamshire, delivering high-quality tuition in English and/or Maths from Entry Level to Level 2.
This is a rewarding opportunity for qualified tutors, teachers, or experienced support staff to make a real difference in the lives of learners who need tailored educational support.
Key Details:

Location: Nottinghamshire (various locations available)

Subjects: Functional Skills English and/or Maths

Pay: £25–£30 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Start Date: Immediate or negotiable

Contract Type: Flexible – part-time and full-time roles available
Your Role:
-
Plan and deliver engaging, personalised Functional Skills sessions
-
Work with learners to improve confidence and progress towards qualifications
-
Adapt lessons to meet individual learning styles and abilities
-
Track student progress and provide feedback to support development
Requirements:
-
Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills in English and/or Maths
-
A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) is preferred
-
Excellent communication and organisational skills
-
A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
