Community Teacher – High Wycombe
(Permanent, Full-Time)
A highly reputable, award-winning group of specialist education settings is seeking an experienced and compassionate Community Teacher to join the permanent teaching team at one of their exceptional schools in High Wycombe. This role offers the chance to work in a supportive and innovative environment that is dedicated to improving outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), both within the school and across the local community.
The Role
The Community Teacher will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, personalised education to learners in community settings outside the traditional classroom environment. This includes working with pupils in homes, partner organisations, and other learning spaces to ensure each individual’s needs are met and their potential is realised. The role requires flexibility, creativity, and a passion for making education accessible and meaningful for every learner.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet the unique needs of each learner.

Work with pupils who may be accessing education outside of the school building, ensuring continuity and progression in their learning.

Collaborate with families, carers, and external professionals to create cohesive support plans.

Maintain accurate records of progress and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews.

Promote positive relationships, confidence, and independence in all learners.

Support the ethos and values of the school group within the wider community.
Requirements
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

Experience working with children and young people with SEND, ideally in specialist or outreach settings.

Strong knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and the ability to adapt approaches for different environments.

Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

Resilience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
-
A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to community learning locations.

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
