SEN/SEMH Teacher – Permanent Position
Location: High Wycombe
A highly reputable, award-winning group of special educational needs (SEN) schools is seeking a skilled and compassionate SEN/SEMH Teacher to join the permanent teaching team at one of their specialist schools in High Wycombe. This role offers a unique opportunity to support children and young people with a combination of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to achieve both academic and personal success in a nurturing, structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the needs of learners with SEN and SEMH requirements.

Create and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
-
Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting strategies to ensure positive outcomes.
-
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, parents, and external agencies to provide holistic support.
-
Promote positive behaviour, emotional resilience, and self-esteem in line with the school’s ethos.
-
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
-
Proven experience working with children or young people with SEN and/or SEMH needs.
-
Strong understanding of SEND legislation, behaviour management strategies, and trauma-informed practice.
-
Ability to adapt teaching styles to a variety of learning needs and abilities.
-
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
-
A collaborative approach and commitment to professional development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
