Behaviour Support Officer – Secondary School, Accrington
Full-Time | Start Date: After October Half-Term
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Behaviour Support Officer to join our team at a thriving secondary school in Accrington. This is a full-time position starting after October half-term.
As a Behaviour Support Officer, you will play a key role in creating a positive, inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with students, staff, and families to promote high standards of behaviour, support young people in overcoming barriers to learning, and ensure that every child can succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with behavioural needs.
- Support staff in implementing behaviour management strategies across the school.
- Help to maintain a calm, purposeful learning environment.
- Work in partnership with pastoral teams, parents, and external agencies where needed.
- Record and monitor behaviour data to help track student progress.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting.
- Demonstrates patience, resilience, and strong communication skills.
- Can build positive relationships with students and act as a role model.
- Is proactive, flexible, and committed to supporting the school’s values.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
