A Primary School based in Walthamstow, Waltham Forest is looking to hire an enthusiastic and motivated learning support assistant to support a child with behavioural needs. They are looking for someone who can set clear and firm boundaries to effectively support learning, whilst also being able to differentiate work to suit the child's individual needs. You will often work closely with the SENCO, to update them on the child's progress.
The role will be to work 1:1 with a child in Year 1, supporting with behaviour and social interaction, as well as the National Curriculum.
The successful Learning Support Assistant will:
- Have at least 1 year of experience supporting children/adults with challenging behaviour
- Be highly motivated, enthusiastic and be willing to learn and develop new skills
- Be keen to work as part of a team
- Be committed to promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring equal opportunities to learn and develop.
*This is a great opportunity for anyone who has a Criminology/Psychology degree, youth support or social work background, who is seeking to gain experience within a primary school*
To apply for this role you must have an enhanced Child Workforce DBS check and be registered on to the update service. Candidates that do not have a current DBS will have to apply for one through the agency. This is compulsory and not optional.
