Teaching Assistant, Knowsley

Required as soon as possible a teaching assistant to work within a Special Educational Needs School in Knowsley. You will be supporting pupils with ASC as well as Complex Learning Difficulties. You will be working with a dedicated and dynamic team to help support pupils access to teaching and learning.

You will be providing class, small group work and one to one support to encourage and develop skills so children can achieve full participation in class activities.

Our client school is an over-subscribed community day school which caters currently for children aged 11-19 years. We are seeking a friendly and caring person who is able to establish positive working relationships with children. You will have experience in supporting either adults or young people either on a volunteer or paid basis, references will be required to support your experience in this field.

Your responsibilities will include:

*To encourage pupils to join in with all activities and to take a full and active part in school life.

*To support and care for the child in their toileting needs.

*To prepare, modify and adapt resources and learning materials for the pupil as agreed with the class teacher and other professionals.

*To assist in resolving any behavioural, social and emotional difficulties which may arise.

*To encourage the pupil to develop a positive self image, and to develop confidence in their abilities and communication with others.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
