Burnley Primary School-Sports Coach/Behaviour Support

• Experience supporting the Primary PE Curriculum is a necessity
• Experience working alongside children with behavioural needs (ADHD and SEMH)
• Degree/ Level 2 or above qualified

A number of schools in the Burnley area have contacted Teaching Personnel in this first half term in order to shortlist and appoint teaching assistants who can support sports and Physical Education, as well as working alongside children with challenging behaviour. With this, the majority of schools have noted that they would prefer to see candidates who can use a range of behaviour strategies in order to de-escalate the more challenging children in school. They have found that the most successful candidates have been the ones who can work on the children’s level and most importantly this has been through the integration of sport, and using this as an incentive for good behaviour.

In the first 7 weeks of this academic year, we have seen a number of sports graduates and teaching support assistants placed on a long term basis. These positions would not be possible without the working relationships we have with a number of ‘big using’ schools across the East Lancashire area. So why not get in touch and find out more! Just a note…the roles we have at the agency tend to vary, from Short term to long term, temp to perm and supply roles. Do not miss out on gaining valuable experience without the rigmarole of application forms etc.
