Bristol | Full-Time | Term Time | 3 Positions Available

We are currently recruiting 3 Teaching Assistants to join a specialist SEN school in Bristol. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with young people and wants a rewarding role where they can make a genuine difference.

You’ll be supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, helping them to engage with learning, develop their confidence and independence, and feel supported throughout the school day.

The role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and other support staff to provide consistent, individualised support to pupils. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Helping pupils access lessons and classroom activities
  • Supporting communication, social and emotional development
  • Helping pupils manage their emotions and behaviour positively
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement
  • Supporting pupils during transitions and throughout the wider school day
  • Building strong, positive relationships with pupils
  • Working closely with teaching staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment

Who are we looking for?

Previous school experience is beneficial, but it isn't essential. We would also love to hear from people with transferable experience from areas such as:

  • SEN or additional needs
  • Care or support work
  • Youth work or mentoring
  • Sports coaching
  • Mental health or pastoral support
  • Psychology, education or similar degrees
  • Working with children or vulnerable individuals

More importantly, you'll need to be patient, resilient, reliable and confident building relationships with young people. The school is looking for people who genuinely want to support pupils who may need additional patience, encouragement and consistency.

Why apply?

  • 3 positions currently available
  • Full-time, term-time work
  • Valuable experience within a specialist SEN setting
  • Opportunity to develop your experience supporting additional needs
  • Ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants or those looking to move into SEN education
  • Ongoing support throughout your placement

If you're looking for a rewarding role where you can have a positive impact on pupils who need additional support, apply today and we’ll be in touch to discuss the opportunity further.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
