Are you passionate about supporting young people who need extra help to succeed in education?

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in Bristol, supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH needs, and communication difficulties. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with young people who benefit from additional support, helping them build confidence, develop independence, and achieve meaningful progress both inside and outside the classroom.

Whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant or come from a background in care, youth work, coaching, psychology, mental health, or support work, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and additional learning needs
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual learning plans
  • Help students develop social skills, emotional regulation and independence
  • Support positive behaviour through a patient, nurturing and consistent approach
  • Work alongside teachers, therapists and pastoral teams to implement personalised strategies
  • Encourage engagement, participation and confidence throughout the school day

Essential Requirements

  • Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable adults
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A positive, proactive attitude
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
