Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: BS13, Bristol
Start Date: 15th October
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step in your career?

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive specialist school in BS13 that is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from 15th October.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of pupils with additional needs, supporting both their academic progress and personal development within a highly nurturing environment.

 

The Role

As a HLTA, you will:

  • Lead learning activities and deliver planned interventions
  • Support pupils with a range of additional learning needs
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to promote positive outcomes
  • Help create an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Support behaviour management and pupil wellbeing throughout the school day

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Confidence leading learning activities and supporting small groups independently
  • HLTA status or substantial experience in a higher-level support role
  • A positive, proactive, and nurturing approach
