121 SEN Support assistant, Leeds Primary school

A larger than average primary school in Leeds, LS10 are currently looking to employ a new member of staff to work on a full-time basis supporting a child in Key Stage 1 with Learning Difficulties. This role will be starting ideally as soon as possible. Candidates applying for this role must have recent experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and be available full-time from November 2019. 

This 1-2-1 support assistant role will be working with a primary school rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in the LS10 area of Leeds which is just a 10 minute drive from the Leeds city centre and has public transport services which are constantly available to and from the school. The school are looking for a support assistant who has had experience with Autistic children in the last 12 months and who has supported children on a 1-21 basis with Special Educational Needs.

Teaching Personnel exclusively offer CPD and key skill courses to our candidates at Leeds Trinity University in order for candidates to up skill their professional skills within the primary teaching sector. To name a few Leeds Trinity offer; Literacy and Mathematical Development across the Curriculum, Planning and questioning for progression, Early Reading and Phonics, Teaching for Learning, Differentiation and Effective Behaviour management!

  • Candidates must be available school hours from 8/830 - 330/4
  • Candidates must have a positive attitude and have the required Autism experience with primary school aged children
  • Candidates need to be confident when working with Autistic children of different levels and abilities. This includes planning for differentiation and preparation for one-to-one support
  • Candidates need to be open to trial days and must be punctual at all times
  • Candidates need to show responsibility for their own learning as well as personal and professional development through experience, qualifications and additional trainings
  • Candidates must be able to work as a team and individually and must be proactive when supporting and teaching pupils
