1:1 Behaviour Support Assistant immediately required- Rochdale

Full time position for a 1:1 Behaviour Support Assistant commencing after February half term. The position is a full time permanent position so Behaviour Support Assistants are encouraged to apply immediately. Due to specific needs of the pupil the School have requested that the Behaviour Support Assistant should be a male as they feel that the pupil would respond better to a male.

The setting is a Secondary Special school in Rochdale who are currently working in partnership with Teaching Personnel. The school currently has 253 pupils enrolled and provides education for pupils with SEN. The School caters for pupils with a range of needs including: pupils with moderate learning difficulties (MLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD) and pupils with profound multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).

The role will involve working in collaboration with a range of professionals including: Teachers, school support staff and professionals from external agencies . It will also involve planning and implementing outreach activities that are designed to encourage the ongoing development of pupils who display signs of challenging behaviour.

The ideal Behaviour Support Assistant will have:

• Significant experience working with pupils who display signs of challenging behaviour
• Team Teach trained (desirable)
• Experience working within a PRU
