A client school in Central Manchester (M13) are looking for a Youth Worker to join their team as behaviour Support Assistant working with children across KS1 & KS2. The ideal candidate will have a background in Youth Work and will be comfortable and confident working with children with identified needs. The school are looking for someone who will confidently deliver engaging extra curricular activities for children who are struggling to access learning in the classroom.
This two form entry primary school is dedicated to supporting children with additional needs and the SENCO aims to make 'learning accessible and enjoyable for all children'. The successful applicant will work closely with the SENCO and class teacher to identify areas for development for specified children and will work in accordance to specialised IEP's. If successful, you will be working with children across KS1 & KS2 who display challenging behaviour or who have SEMH and need protected time working on a 1:1 basis. The successful applicant doesn't necessarily need experience working with specific SEN as the right personality and attitude will be taken into account.
To be considered for this role you will:
- Have a back ground in youth work or equivalent
- Have experience working with children between the ages of 5-11
- Be able to implement strong behaviour management techniques
The school can offer you the opportunity to work in a 'GOOD' school with a supportive leadership and management team. The position is to start ASAP and will run up until the end of the academic year. The chance to continue into the new academic year may be possible for the right candidate.
If you have a back ground in youth work and you are looking to begin your career in education, then you are encouraged to get in touch! The school are looking to appoint as soon as possible.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
