Year 6 Intervention Teacher

Date posted : 01/10/19
£19 - 25 per hour + CPD

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Smaller than average primary school with a strong Christian ethos

A well driven Head teacher who has taken the school from RI to GOOD by Ofsted

Part-time working hours in the week

Payroll will be through Teaching Personnel with direct PAYE contract payments every week

The role:

The role will be to work alongside a number of children in the Year 6 class in small groups and as individuals. The children are either working significantly below age related levels or have special educational needs. The children are being prepared for the end of Key Stage 2 SATs and so it is important that they receive small group booster sessions in order to give them the best opportunity to reach their potential. You will be expected to hold strong written and spoken English skills as well as Maths. You will also be expected to work alongside the Class Teacher in Year 6 to differentiate the planning and have an impact on the acceleration of learning in these subject areas. It is not essential that you have delivered SATs booster sessions previously, however it would be beneficial as the speed at which the successful candidate would need to impact the children’s learning will be monitored initially.

The School:

The School is currently governed by the Salford Diocese, which Teaching Personnel has a Service Level Agreement with currently, and the Head teacher is keen to settle a new member of staff ready to make a good impact. The children who attend school are mainly from the local area which is considered to be a mixed catchment, where the children are mainly working below expected levels and arrive from working class backgrounds. The support from parents is pretty limited and so the Head teacher has used a variety of techniques in order to gain their trust and buy-in when it comes to delivering certain messages in school. The feedback for the staff we have previously had in school have been very positive. Everybody comments on the support they receive on arrival as well as the enthusiasm the Head teacher has for moving her children from their start point to the end, which now shows good progress.

If you are looking to find out more information on this role, or any other role we have at the agency then please do not hesitate to contact me in the office. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
