Year 5 Teacher

Hours: Full-time (8.30am-3.30pm)
Teaching Personnel are working closely with a mainstream Primary School in Pudsey (LS28), who are looking to appoint a Year 5 teacher to join their Key Stage 2 team. The successful candidate will be supported by an experienced Teaching Assistant and work from a detailed plan to deliver lessons across the foundation subjects including Maths and English. This role is currently long-term.
The Head Teacher does desire the successful candidate to have a broad knowledge of the curriculum - as is a positive working attitude and ability to establish strong working relationships. Fully qualified teachers and NQT’s are encouraged to apply. Behaviour within school is considered to be generally good, however, it is requested that the employed practitioner is confident and capable of implementing effective behaviour management strategies and capable of working in line with their well supported policies and school ethos.
This teaching position offers candidates the scope to develop their career and gain further experience working across all year groups. The school are interested to meet with both NQTs and experienced teachers for this role.
Experience and Requirements:
- Able to access the Pudsey area by means of travel
- Previous experience in KS2 Teaching Assistant role preferred
- Available between Monday-Friday for work
- To be confident in building good working relationships with both pupils and adults
- Great organisational skills in and out the classroom
- Creativity is key
- Passion for working with children
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to manage groups of pupils and deal with sometimes challenging behaviour
- Patience and a sense of humour
