A school in HG2 have been in touch with Teaching Personnel as they require a Year 3/4 teacher for the next academic year until the February half-term. As the current class teacher is off on maternity leave the school have organised a job sharing arrangement with the Deputy, but have now decided they would prefer a full-time member of staff in position instead. The school is easily commutable by car with plenty of parking space; it is also relatively small in size as it is only 1/2 form entry throughout the school from Reception to Year 6. The Headteacher has been at the school for 4 years, in which time they have always been rated as GOOD by Ofsted. The Head has achieved this by maintaining high behavioural standards in the school, meaning that the working environment for teachers is very pleasant and manageable. The staff in the school will provide a strong support base for any new arrival, as a large amount of the staff have been at the school for a number of years.
What the SLT are looking for…
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
- Classroom experience in KS2
- Able to travel to HG2
- Available to start in September
The main priority with this appointment from the school’s perspective is to get someone with experience of teaching in lower KS2, as poor progress in these middle year groups leaves students poorly prepared for KS2 and ultimately secondary school. SLT are also aware that teaching in joint year groups present a new challenge to a lot of teachers in terms of differentiation and tracking progress. Experience in combined year group classes would be well received for this reason. Other than this, the school are open-minded about who they would consider for the role, and are happy to accept NQTs as well as more experienced teachers for the role provided they have some experience in KS2. As the school is aiming for OUTSTANDING, therefore any experience of working in outstanding schools previously would reflect well on the chosen candidate.

In this role, you will be paid a daily rate on a weekly basis by Teaching Personnel. The daily rate of pay will be negotiated once the school has selected a candidate they would like to appoint, and we will handle these negotiations as well as any issues relating to vetting, HR, absence on your behalf.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
