Would you like to work in a Primary school?
A Primary School situated in Burnley is looking to employ an SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a full time basis to support a child in a year 2 class. Teaching Personnel are working closely with the Head Teacher to get a clear understanding of the child's needs and requirements to ensure they get a suitable new member of staff. The role is one that will require a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is keen to make a difference in the classroom. This position would be long term and to start after the October half term. The school has secured the funding for the full academic year, therefore the post would be 'longer term' with the potential to roll into the new year.
The class is average sized with a catchment of mainly white British heritage children. As this is a specialist teaching assistant role, the school will be looking to question the applying candidates about their recent experience working alongside children with Autism. You would be in the Year 2 class supporting a child 1:1 with diagnosed Autism which can lead to aggressive behaviour to other children within the class. The class Teacher you would be working with is the Key Stage leader.
The salary is based on a 6.5 hour day, Monday to Friday, and depending on experience, this could vary between £9.50-£11 per hour.
If you are interested in the role specified above then please don't hesitate to contact Howard.
