Primary School in Colne require a Fully Qualified Teacher to start as of November 2019 (BB8)

- Applicants must have previous experience working in Key Stage 1

A 'Good' School located just outside the Colne town Centre have reached out to Teaching Personnel in order to help them source a suitable candidate to join their 'Dedicated and welcoming' team. The role is to start in November due to 'unforeseen staffing circumstances'. The position is to be Class Teacher for a 'Lively and Vibrant' Year 1 Class. The class is smaller than average with 24 pupils within the class, due to a low birth rate one particular year. You will be required to deliver practical and engaging lessons following the National Curriculum. Good Phonics knowledge is essential with the school using both Letters & Sounds & Read Write Inc. programmes of work. The Head Teacher has stressed she wants to employ someone who can 'Bring fun into the Classroom' but can also 'Monitor and manage behaviour effectively and efficiently'.

The School is a 1 form entry Primary School with the children being from predominantly white British backgrounds, there is a higher number of Pupil Premium Children and the Head Teacher has stated the behaviour can be challenging at times, however, she has much confidence in her staff and says 'We work together accordingly and competently and follow a structured behaviour policy'.

The facilities in the school are good with large grounds with many 'Learning/Intervention rooms' which are used on a daily basis by the TA's & intervention teacher. Each class teacher will have the support of a Teaching Assistant and they are utilised to work with groups of children, delivering interventions to capture more focus from the pupils during sessions to limit distractions. The general ability of the pupils is extremely mixed with the majority of children either 'Below' Or 'At' Age related expectations.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £100-£150 per day (varies depending on experience)
