Teaching Assistant – Mainstream School in Bournemouth – January Start
A welcoming and inclusive mainstream school in Bournemouth is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team from January. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, pastoral staff, and the wider support team to provide tailored assistance to pupils across a range of abilities and year groups. This role involves offering one-to-one support, small-group intervention work, and general classroom assistance to ensure all students can access learning effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Support students in accessing the curriculum, both in class and through targeted intervention activities

Assist teaching staff with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and resource development

Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging engagement, confidence, and independence

Provide one-to-one or small-group support based on individual learning needs

Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to safeguarding procedures at all times

Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies to promote student progress and wellbeing
Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting

A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learning

Strong communication and teamwork skills

A genuine passion for helping students achieve their full potential

Willingness to undertake relevant training and contribute to wider school life

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
