Welsh Speaking Teaching Assistant Job
Full time - Start date September 2021
Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a fluent Welsh speaking Teaching Assistant to help support across the Foundation phase on behalf of a school in the Ystrad Rhondda area. The role is full-time and is likely to continue until the end of the school year. As well as looking for someone with experience in the classroom, the school are looking for someone who has a background in sport or music so applicants who meet that criterion are encouraged to apply.
About the school
The school is within a 5-minute walking distant from Ystrad Rhondda train station, so is easily accessible on public transport. The school is a fluent Welsh Primary school and caters for pupils aged between 5 and 11 years old. Although very few come from Welsh speaking backgrounds, all pupils are expected to be fluent in Welsh and English by the end of Key stage 2.
The ideal candidate:
- Ability to build good relationships with both staff and pupils
- Passionate about working with children
- Be able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
- Background in either sport or music
- Welsh speaking
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS (Teaching Personnel can assist with the DBS application and EWC registration)
- Registered with the Education Workforce Council
- Provide 2x professional references
- Right to work in the UK
