Personal Tutor required to support Looked After Children in Bradford

  • Firm understanding of the National Curriculum
  • Sensitivity to individual pupil needs

  • Able to effectively meet the social, emotional and mental health needs of young people

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a specialist tutor to support the learning of Looked After Children (LAC) in Bradford.

The successful applicant will have a firm grasp over their subject area, and excellent communication skills. It is essential that you possess the passion to impart knowledge and to create a desire to learn. You will be working to develop and implement bespoke tuition packages to be delivered on a 1:1 basis. You will have a firm grasp of the National Curriculum with specialisms in either Maths or English. A formal teaching qualification is also desired but not essential.

You will be required to take on a case load of students and deliver personalised learning, planned to meet the pupils' individual needs. The pupils may display challenging behaviour and/or have additional learning needs. You will be required to liaise with Social Workers, Carers and Educational Psychologists, so you will possess excellent communication skills.

Teaching Personnel has tailored its service to support the government's commitment to 'narrowing the gap' between the achievement of looked after children and all young people. Over many years Teaching Personnel has developed a good understanding of pupil intervention strategies and the challenges surrounding them. You will have the desire and commitment to support Teaching Personnel in their passion for raising attainment and supporting pupils to re-engage with learning activities.

As a registered tutor with Teaching Personnel, you will have access to a number of resources including Individual Tutor Plans and Pupil Passports, designed to support you to deliver a high quality service to pupils. You will also have discounted access to CPD Courses with Teaching Personnel.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
