1:1 Tutor – Coventry & Surrounding Areas

Are you an experienced teacher or tutor looking to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people?

TP Tutors, part of Teaching Personnel, is seeking dedicated 1:1 Tutors to provide personalised tuition to pupils across Coventry, Bedworth, Kenilworth, Nuneaton, Rugby, Balsall Common, Tile Hill, Binley, Allesley, and the surrounding areas.

Tuition is delivered on a one-to-one basis in pupils' homes or school settings during school hours (Monday to Friday). We are looking for tutors who can support learners across Primary, Secondary, GCSE, Functional Skills, and SEND.

This is a rewarding opportunity to help pupils who require additional educational support, whether they are working towards academic goals, returning to education, or need personalised learning to build confidence and achieve their full potential.

Pay

Competitive pay, depending on experience, qualifications, the pupil's needs, and the tuition assignment.

Working Pattern

  • Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities
  • Tuition delivered during school hours (Monday to Friday)
  • Long-term and ongoing tuition assignments available
  • Travel to pupils' homes and school settings across Coventry and the surrounding areas is required

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 tuition tailored to each pupil's individual needs.
  • Plan and deliver lessons in line with the UK National Curriculum where appropriate.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to suit each pupil's learning style and ability.
  • Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND where applicable.
  • Monitor pupil progress and complete session reports following each lesson.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families, schools, and local authorities.
  • Encourage confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning.

Essential Requirements

  • A minimum of two years' UK teaching or tutoring experience.
  • Experience working with primary and/or secondary-aged pupils.
  • Good knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to travel reliably between tuition locations.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Desirable Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or another recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia, and speech and language needs.
  • Experience delivering tuition in homes, schools, or alternative provision settings.
  • Knowledge of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Experience preparing pupils for SATs, GCSEs, or Functional Skills qualifications.

Location

This role covers Coventry, Bedworth, Kenilworth, Nuneaton, Rugby, Balsall Common, Tile Hill, Binley, Allesley, Earlsdon, Walsgrave, and nearby areas. Applicants should be willing to travel to tuition locations within the local region.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
