We're looking for passionate and committed GCSE Tutors to provide high-quality one-to-one tuition to students across Wigan. If you enjoy inspiring young people, building confidence, and helping learners achieve their academic goals, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
You'll work with students preparing for GCSEs, delivering engaging, tailored lessons that make a real difference to their progress and future opportunities.
Your Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging 1:1 GCSE tuition sessions.
- Plan lessons tailored to each student's learning needs.
- Support learners in English, Maths, Science, or your specialist subject.
- Track progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Build confidence, motivation, and independent learning skills.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate progress when required.
- Promote a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
- Experience teaching or tutoring GCSE students.
- Strong subject knowledge.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach.
- A genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
Essential Requirements
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Previous teaching, tutoring, or relevant educational experience.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Desirable
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent.
- Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH, or those who have missed education.
- Knowledge of current GCSE exam specifications.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
