Are you an experienced teacher or tutor looking to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people?
TP Tutors, part of Teaching Personnel, is seeking dedicated 1:1 Tutors to provide personalised tuition to pupils across Peterborough, Stamford, Market Deeping, Eye, Yaxley, Whittlesey, Hampton, Werrington, Stanground, Orton, and the surrounding areas.
Tuition is delivered on a one-to-one basis in pupils' homes or school settings during school hours (Monday to Friday). We are looking for tutors who can support learners across Primary, Secondary, GCSE, Functional Skills, ESOL, and SEND.
This is a rewarding opportunity to help pupils who require additional educational support due to gaps in learning, medical needs, SEND, or alternative provision. As a 1:1 Tutor, you'll provide personalised learning that builds confidence, improves engagement, and helps pupils achieve meaningful academic progress.
Pay
Competitive pay, depending on experience, qualifications, the pupil's needs, and the tuition assignment.
Working Pattern
- Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities
- Tuition delivered during school hours (Monday to Friday)
- Long-term and ongoing tuition assignments available
- Travel to pupils' homes and school settings across Peterborough and the surrounding areas is required
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 tuition tailored to each pupil's individual needs.
- Teach pupils across Primary, Secondary, GCSE, Functional Skills, ESOL, or SEND, depending on your experience.
- Plan and deliver lessons that meet each learner's educational goals.
- Adapt teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles and abilities.
- Monitor pupil progress and complete session reports following each lesson.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families, schools, and Local Authorities.
- Encourage pupils to develop confidence, resilience, and independence in their learning.
Essential Requirements
- A minimum of two years' UK teaching or tutoring experience.
- Experience teaching one or more of the following:
- Primary
- Secondary
- GCSE
- Functional Skills
- ESOL
- SEND
- Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum where appropriate.
- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to travel reliably between tuition locations.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, CELTA, DELTA, TEFL, TESOL, or another recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia, and speech and language needs.
- Experience delivering tuition in pupils' homes, schools, or alternative provision settings.
- Knowledge of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Location
This role covers Peterborough, Stamford, Market Deeping, Eye, Yaxley, Whittlesey, Hampton, Werrington, Stanground, Orton, Sawtry, Glinton, Crowland, and nearby areas. Applicants should be willing to travel to tuition locations within the local region.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
