Are you an experienced teacher or tutor looking to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people?

TP Tutors, part of Teaching Personnel, is seeking dedicated 1:1 Tutors to provide personalised tuition to pupils across Corby,  and the surrounding areas.

Tuition is delivered on a one-to-one basis in pupils' homes or school settings during school hours (Monday to Friday). We are looking for tutors who can support learners across Primary, Secondary, GCSE, Functional Skills, ESOL, and SEND.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who require additional educational provision due to gaps in learning, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), medical needs, or alternative provision. You'll help learners build confidence, re-engage with education, and make meaningful academic progress through personalised tuition.

Pay

Competitive pay, depending on experience, qualifications, the pupil's needs, and the tuition assignment.

Working Pattern

  • Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities
  • Tuition delivered during school hours (Monday to Friday)
  • Long-term and ongoing tuition assignments available
  • Travel to pupils' homes and school settings across Corby and the surrounding areas is required

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 tuition tailored to each pupil's individual learning needs.
  • Teach learners across Primary, Secondary, GCSE, Functional Skills, ESOL, or SEND, depending on your experience.
  • Plan and deliver lessons that support academic progress and build learner confidence.
  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet individual learning needs.
  • Monitor pupil progress and complete session reports after each lesson.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families, schools, and Local Authorities.
  • Encourage learners to develop resilience, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning.

Essential Requirements

  • A minimum of two years' UK teaching or tutoring experience.
  • Experience teaching one or more of the following:
    • Primary
    • Secondary
    • GCSE
    • Functional Skills
    • ESOL
    • SEND
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum where appropriate.
  • Excellent communication, behaviour management, and relationship-building skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to travel reliably between tuition locations.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Desirable Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, CELTA, DELTA, TEFL, TESOL, or another recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia, and speech and language needs.
  • Experience delivering tuition in pupils' homes, schools, or alternative provision settings.
  • Knowledge of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Location

This role covers Corby, Weldon, Great Oakley, Gretton, Stanion, Rockingham, Cottingham, Kettering, Market Harborough, Oakham, Uppingham, and nearby areas. Applicants should be willing to travel to tuition locations within the local region.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
