Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with teachers, the ALNCO, and pastoral teams to provide tailored academic and emotional support for students aged 11–16.

  • Provide 1:1, small-group, and classroom-based support throughout the school day.
  • Support the development of students' social, emotional, and behavioural skills.
  • Work alongside the school's Specialist Resource Base (SRB), providing personalised support for students with additional learning needs.

  • Support students during lessons, transitions, break times, educational visits, and wider school activities.

What We're Looking For

  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach, with the ability to build positive relationships and manage challenges effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, alongside a genuine commitment to student wellbeing and achievement.
  • An understanding of the social, emotional, and developmental needs of secondary-aged students, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting students with ALN, SEND, SEMH, or behavioural needs.
  • Relevant qualifications or studies in Psychology, Education, Sports, Youth Studies, or other related subjects.

Don’t worry if you don’t have everything yet — we’ll support you through the process as part of your onboarding with us:

  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
  • Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
  • Be aged 18+
  • Level 2 Safeguarding Qualification (Training for this course is provided during onboarding)
