Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistants to work in a secondary school across Newport and the surrounding areas from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who want to gain experience in education while making a meaningful impact on the lives of young people. No formal teaching qualification is required. Just the right attitude, resilience, and a genuine desire to support students.

⭐ About the Role

As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who may require additional support with behaviour, engagement, confidence, emotional wellbeing, or learning.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Helping pupils remain engaged and focused during lessons
• Building positive relationships with young people
• Encouraging confidence, resilience, and positive behaviour
• Supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH)
• Assisting teachers in creating a calm and productive learning environment

No two days are the same, making this an exciting and rewarding opportunity for the right candidate.

✅ Requirements

To be considered, you will need:

• To be aged 18 or over
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• EWC Registration (or willingness to register)
• Two professional references covering the last 24 months
• A willingness to complete safeguarding training through Teaching Personnel
