Teaching Assistant – Inspire the Next Generation in Newport Secondary Schools

Full-Time | September 2026 Start | Newport

Salary: From £92.63 per day (£463.15 per week)
Contract: Full Academic Year
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Teaching Personnel is recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join welcoming secondary schools across Newport this September. Whether you're an experienced Teaching Assistant or looking to take your first step into education, this is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience while helping students achieve their full potential.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers to create a positive and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students in lessons on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
  • Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and build confidence
  • Assisting students with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), SEMH, and behavioural needs
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in the classroom
  • Working alongside teaching staff to deliver tailored learning support
  • Helping create a safe, inclusive and supportive school environment
