Tutor and Cover Supervisor

A local provision in Billingham are searching for a tutor to work with pupils within their home environments, you will also be responsible for working within the school as a cover supervisor, you will be required to be flexible and confident with 1:1 and classroom management. 

The role will involve working with pupils on a 1:1 basis teaching the core subjects (English, Maths and Science); you will not be required to have strong curriculum knowledge across all fields however you will be confident leading classes in vocational lessons where needed including child developement and hair and beauty. Most students are working towards Functional Skills qualifications however some may be aiming towards GCSE levels so the successful candidates will be confident supporting with a variety of levels and subjects.

The pupils in this service often have SEND needs including Autism and Social Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties, therefore the successful candidate will be confident managing challenging behaviour and will have a nurturing personality. The role is based from a Pupil Referral Unit, so you will be able to evidence working with challenging behaviour. The successful candidate must be Team Teach trained or willing to undergo this training during February half term. You must have experience working on a 1:1 basis with pupils or have relevant teaching experience within a challenging behaviour environment. You will need to have access to transport and be available 5 days per week, 8:30am-4pm.
