TA to work in 'Good' Hull school

Teaching Personnel are in the process of looking for a Team Teach or MAPA to work in an Good Hull school. The school is an alternative provision for looked after children that aims to provide young people with the skills they need to adequately adjust to life after education.

About the role:

The role will involve working with SEMH pupils in small classes of no more than 6 pupils at a time. The key focus for the pupil's studies will be to work through core skills and maybe some additional topic work. It is important that you must be used to handling challenging behaviour from young people and be ready to get stuck in.

About you as the ideal candidate

  • The best candidates will be able to show an aptitude for working with challenging behaviour through many years and in different challenging environments.
  • You should have experience working both 1:1 and also within a classroom environment, as no doubt there will be significant overlap.
  • You might also have experience working with SEMH pupils outside a traditional educational setting and this could be of interest.
  • Essentially, you must be a patient, caring and thorough individual with a commitment to helping students to achieve their independence within and outside of school.
  • You will be committed to the welfare of children and always act to safeguard pupil at all times.
  • Ideally you will now have your own transport and a clean driving licence, but this is not necessary essential.

To be considered you must have:

  • A valid enhanced DBS check or be willing to have one through Teaching Personnel.
  • You will be able to provide 2 references and a 6 year working history.
