Are you a person who adores working with young children? Do you feel rewarded by helping people and seeing them progress through your help?

Have you ever considered supporting children with additional needs?

At Teaching Personnel, we work with special schools in the greater Manchester area, whose passion is to provide a fulfilling and positive education experience for children with special needs.
The children's needs can vary, from autism spectrum condition and aspergers, to profound, complex and multiple other disorders. The structure of the curriculum is specially designed to meet these needs, creating a safe and exciting space for sensory, social, emotional and educational development.
As a Teaching Assistant, your role will be mainly focused on a small group of or just one student, depending on the severity of their needs. You will work with them in the classroom, taking time and effort to explain and help them understand the activities in the classroom, to ensure their inclusion and engagement.
You will build relationships with them to make them feel safe and secure whilst at school. Due to the nature of some of the needs, you may be required to take on personal care responsibilities, and moving and handling, which requires a respectful and dignified approach.

Some of the students may pose behaviour challenges, which can be dealt with with proper instruction, an understanding of their needs and patience. Teaching Personnel are able to offer opportunities for training in areas such as Understanding Autism, for candidates who are looking to further their skills.

Ideally we would prefer candidates to have some experience, however personal experience and attitude towards the role will be considered. Please be aware this job requires a caring and nurturing personality.

Please send your CV and cover letter, and one of our consultants will get back to you.
