Complex SEN Learning Support Assistant

Trafford | Full-Time | September Start

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Trafford this September.

The school supports pupils with a range of complex needs, including Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and complex communication needs. You will play a vital role in helping students access learning, develop independence, and achieve their individual goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex SEN.
  • Support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
  • Assist with communication strategies and sensory-based learning.
  • Support personal care and mobility needs where required.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or adults with SEN, disabilities, or additional needs.
  • A patient, resilient, and positive attitude.
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
  • Comfortable supporting personal care needs where required.
  • Able to build positive relationships and work effectively as part of a team.
