Teaching Assistant - Derby

Teaching Personnel are working on the behalf of a secondary school in Derby who are looking for a teaching assistant who has experience with SEN students to join their team from September!

As Teaching Assistant at this School, you will be tasked with supporting a range of students across the key stages and with vast ability ranges. A key element of being their teaching assistant, is to be able to use your well developed interpersonal skills to effectively build rapport and trust quickly with your pupils. The teaching assistant is required to support pupils during lessons and, where appropriate, to run targeted learning interventions with small groups or individual pupils. You will get the opportunity to plan and prepare bespoke interventions based on individual pupils needs. To help with your development, the school will offer constant support and CPD training.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Prior experience working with SEN children
• An understanding of how to engage and support children's learning
• Confident in leading small groups (desirable)
• Able to push students to close learning gaps

To be considered for this position, you must:

• Hold a degree qualification
• Excellent organisation and communication skills
• Previous experience working with children (not necessarily in a classroom) is desirable
• Passionate about education or aspirations to teach
